In our family, we have all types. The ones that have it up as short as possible and the ones that leave it up as long as possible. I used to think it had to come down right away, but I too leave it up until I am good and ready to take it down. We have always had small livingrooms until the past 2 years. I now have 2, and a tree in each! I also have a small 3 1/2' tree in my entryway that I keep decorated any way I want all year long. I'm working on old pictures in tiny frames for it now. I love it. I would just sit and cry! Isn't it funny how we are all so very different from each other?! But, then, that's what makes the world go around. I, for example, don't even like going to the dentist's office, while my friend, Trish, looks forward to going to work everyday as a dental hygienist. The best women's director is one that is humble and empowers others; is able to give up control because its not about her, its about allowing ministry to go forward. It starts with a humble, truly surrendered woman who does not give in to favoritism; that sees the gifts in every woman; who does not allow any critical spirit to emerge amongst the leadership.
